I have a confession. This isn’t the first rock version of a Bob Marley song I’ve done. I love reggae, but I find that his lyrics and melodies transcend genre. Marley songs almost demand reincarnation.
Marley’s original is So Much Trouble In The World, but I felt the chord structure reworking called for a reworked title. So, here is my tribute to Bob, which I call Trouble:
Bless my eyes this morning: the Sun is on the rise once again.
The way earthly things are going, anything can happen.
You see men sailing on their ego trip,
_blast off like a spaceship:
__million miles from reality.
They don’t care for you, don’t care for me.
There is so much trouble in the world.
All you got to do is give a little, take a little, give a little
So you think you’ve found the solution, but it’s just another illusion.
So before you check out this tide,
_don’t leave another cornerstone standing there behind.
We’ve got to face the day, come what may.
We the street people talking, we’re the people struggling.
Now they sitting on a time bomb.
Now I know the time has come:
_what goes up must come down,
__what goes around it comes around.
There is so much trouble in the world.
